Free vs Premium: What Actually Changes When You Upgrade

·6 min read

A lot of "free" plans are really just trials with a clock on them. QRPixel’s isn’t — the free plan is a genuinely complete page: your own qrpixel.net/you address, up to 15 links, one bookable event type, two QR codes, every theme option, and a real 7-day analytics window. Nothing about it is a locked demo.

What Premium actually removes

Premium is $9 a month and it removes three kinds of limits rather than adding new features from scratch: quantity limits (unlimited links, event types and QR codes instead of 15/1/2), history limits (365 days of analytics instead of 7, plus visitor-level detail with devices, browsers, referrers and countries), and presentation limits (custom SEO title and description per page, and the option to remove the "Made with QRPixel" badge).

How to tell if you’ve outgrown Free

  • You’re deleting older links to make room for new ones — that’s the 15-link ceiling.
  • You want a second bookable event (say, a quick intro call and a longer paid session) — that’s the one-event-type ceiling.
  • You keep wishing you could see last month’s numbers, not just last week’s — that’s the 7-day analytics window.
  • You care who’s actually visiting — device, browser, country — not just how many.

If none of those apply yet, Free genuinely covers you. Switching between plans doesn’t touch your data either way — downgrading just pauses anything above the free limits rather than deleting it, so there’s no risk in trying Premium and stepping back down later if it turns out you didn’t need it.

The features aimed squarely at agencies and growing businesses

A few Premium features aren’t about raising a number, they’re about unlocking something Free doesn’t do at all — and they tend to matter most once you’re running QRPixel for more than yourself.

  • Multiple bio pages under one login — Free is capped at one profile; Premium is unlimited, which is what makes QRPixel workable for an agency running a page per client rather than one account per client.
  • Lead-capture forms on your page — Premium adds prospect capture so a visitor who isn’t ready to book yet can still leave their details, instead of just bouncing.
  • A digital business card — Premium-only, a tap-to-share contact card with your own QR code, useful for anyone doing in-person networking, not just online sharing.
  • Instant-redirect short links — Free short links show a brief branded interstitial before redirecting; Premium skips straight to the destination, which matters for time-sensitive campaign links.
  • Custom booking fields — collect exactly the intake information you need before a call, rather than just name and email.

None of that changes the core verdict: if you’re one person with one page and modest traffic, Free is a complete product. The moment you’re managing this for more than one page, or trying to capture leads instead of just clicks, Premium earns its $9.
